Developing health service standards under the implementation of the health insurance system

In its efforts to improve healthcare standards and ensure compliance with health insurance requirements, Al-Isnad Health Services Company, in collaboration with the Health Insurance Authority, organized a workshop entitled “Developing Healthcare Standards under the Implementation of the Health Insurance System.” The workshop took place on March 12, 2025, in the technical directorate hall of the Health Insurance Authority, and was attended by a distinguished group of specialists and experts.

Workshop Objectives

The workshop revolved around two main objectives:

1. Highlighting the importance of standardized criteria that healthcare institutions must adhere to in order to ensure compliance with the requirements of the health insurance system.
2. Enhancing knowledge among staff at the authority regarding the role of these standards in improving healthcare quality and achieving the strategic goals of the Health Insurance Law.

Speakers

The workshop featured two prominent experts in the field of healthcare quality:

• Professor Dr. Mundher Al-Kadhimi:
  • Professor and researcher at the Royal University in London.
  • Possesses extensive experience in healthcare quality and supervised the application of standardized programs in Iraq during 2018-2019.
• Professor Hassan Mohamed Ali Khashfeh:
  • Executive Director of Qualizone.
  • Expert in governance and quality assurance, and Vice President of the Lebanese Society for Medical Engineering.

Workshop Topics

The workshop included a series of lectures and interactive sessions focused on healthcare standardization and quality assurance:

• Lecture: Standardized Criteria for Healthcare Services at King’s College Hospital in London.
• Lecture: Quality Standards and Accreditation System Application in Lebanon.
• Interactive Dialogue Session, where participants and speakers exchanged ideas and experiences.

Closing Session

The workshop concluded with several recommendations aimed at promoting the application of standardized criteria and raising awareness among healthcare workers about their importance. Al-Isnad reaffirmed its ongoing cooperation with the Health Insurance Authority to implement initiatives that contribute to the development of healthcare services in Iraq.
